The Brakes Sign with HYENA records
Tale of Two Cities to be released May 6th

We are pround to announce that we have signed with HYENA Records for the release of our debut album "Tale of Two Cities". The release date has been set for May 6th, 2008 and it will be available in stores everywhere and on Itunes!

In the spring of 2007, The Brakes took on dual city residencies, performing weekly in New York City and Philadelphia. Playing at the Knitting Factory in NYC every Tuesday and at MilkBoy in Ardmore, PA every Thursday, the band transitioned from famed NYC rock club to intimate listening room, often times rearranging their songs for each different setting.

Each show was recorded and the best versions from both cities were assembled together for a cohesive live statement. Mixed by Tommy Joyner at MilkBoy Studios the resulting album reflects the different envionments in which the songs were recorded, together crafting " Tale of Two Cities".
