As expected, westward travel has brought wintery conditions. We haven't yet played a show on this tour and we've already fallen victim to the ice and snow covering Kansas and Colorado, respecively. As we sit here, comfortably lounging in Matt Braslow's l new house in Boulder, CO, we feel greatly blessed to be warm and safe. Our transport thus far has been hellish but certainly could've been much worse.

Ten miles down I-70 West of Colby, KS where we stopped for lunch, Zach, perhaps driving a bit too fast for the conditions, swerved on the ice and banked The Lesbian Segal (our tour van) in two feet of snow, hitting a mile-marker head on and landing, albeit safely, 15 feet wide of the highway. It took 90 minutes, $110, 3 different tow trucks and 2 Kansas State Troopers to dig the Segal and "Black Justice" (our equipment trailer) back out onto the road.

About 5 hours later we were finally in Boulder-one of the most pleasant places in the country, and one of our favorite places to stop and relax while on tour. But of course, we weren't yet in the clear. The un-plowed streets of Boulder proved unmanageable for our rig and we ended up stuck in the snow 3 more times!! Above is a picture of Maslow helping to dig us out...the first time...
